Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers following a raid on a residence in Wuse Zone 7 , Abuja.
According to a report by counter-insurgency expert and security analyst, Zagazola Makama, the arrest was made on March 5. at about 4:15 a.m.
The report said that five armed robbers in a black Golf 3 car invaded a house at Lome Crescent, Wuse Zone 7, where they stole electronic appliances and two mobile phones from the occupants.
“Upon receiving a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Wuse Division deployed a combined team of operatives led by Superintendent Luka Ayuba to the scene.
“Two suspects, Abubakar Kama of Kaduna Road and Usma Haruna, 25, of Dei-Dei, were arrested,” sources said.
According to the report, the suspects were almost lynched by an angry mob before security operatives intervened, adding that one of them, who sustained injuries due to mob action, was taken to Wuse General Hospital for treatment.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the robbery, while efforts were ongoing to track down the three fleeing gang members.
