Police sustain raid operations, arrest 3 suspects, recover pistol, other items in Awka

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested three suspects, Recovered a locally made pistol and other incriminating items at Awka.

According to the press release made available to newsmen by the Police Public Relations Officer Anambra State Command, Awka, SP Tochukwku Ikenga, in the early hours of 29th April 2025, Police Operatives attached to the B Division of the State Police Command acting on credible information raided an uncompleted building at Iyiagu Estate, Awka.

“During the operation, three suspects were arrested while one locally made revolver pistol and some substances suspected to be hard drugs were recovered.

“The suspects: Paulinus Nkuda, Nwankwo Emmanuel, and Nwadede Godspower, all males, stated that the pistol belonged to one Chukwuebuka, whose second name is unknown but popularly known as Nwa Onitsha who is currently at large.

Meanwhile, the suspects and the Case have been transferred to the Anti Kidnapping/Rapid Response Unit of the Command for further investigation. The Operatives have also intensified the manhunt for the possible arrest of Nwa Onitsha.

This operation demonstrates the Police’s commitment to enhancing safety and security in the State capital by targeting potential hideouts and hotspots for criminal activities as well as preventing crimes and reassuring residents of their safety.
