Troops of the 7 Division and Sector 1 of Operation Hadin Kai, in a coordinated effort with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have eliminated five terrorists during a successful ambush in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

The counter-insurgency operation, reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama, was carried out at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Thursday along the Pulka road axis near the Mandara Mountains.

Military sources said the troops, who were deployed from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Pulka, engaged the insurgents at a suspected crossing point during the mission.

“During the firefight, the ambush team neutralised five terrorists, while several others escaped with suspected gunshot wounds,” the source said.
