The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has officially released the results of the 2024 In-School National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations.

The announcement was made by the Acting Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Nnasia Asanga, during a press conference at NABTEB’s headquarters in Benin City on Thursday.

Dr. Asanga disclosed that a total of 67,751 candidates registered across 1,708 centers nationwide, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for the June/July exams.

The candidates were enrolled in a diverse range of fields, including 16 Engineering Trades, 7 Construction Trades, 9 Miscellaneous Trades, 4 Business Trades, and 16 General Education Subjects.

Of the registered candidates, 67,340 sat for the exams, representing a high participation rate of 99.39%. Impressively, 44,000 candidates, about 65.34%, achieved five credits and above, including in key subjects such as English Language and Mathematics.

Furthermore, 92.42% of the candidates—approximately 62,235—earned five credits or more with or without these two subjects.

Dr. Asanga highlighted a significant improvement in the number of certified craftsmen, with 68.64% of candidates now certified, compared to 51.93% in 2023.

He also expressed optimism that the timely release of the results would facilitate candidates’ smooth admission into higher institutions across the country.

The increase in successful candidates is seen as a major step forward for technical education in Nigeria, with NABTEB reaffirming its commitment to equipping young Nigerians with the skills needed to thrive in various technical and vocational fields.
