Electricity supply has been restored to four states under the Jos Electricity Distribution (JED) franchise—Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, and Benue—after enduring a prolonged outage.
The restoration occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, prompting celebrations among residents of Jos, the Plateau State capital, who expressed their joy as power returned.
For the past 10 days, several northern states were plunged into darkness following a disruption caused by the tripping of the 330kV transmission line linking Benue and Enugu states.
The blackout severely disrupted the daily activities and businesses of residents, who had voiced frustration over the hardship caused by the outage.
