Less than a month tanker killed my road users at Karu bridge part of Abuja- Keffi express road, another devastating road accident involving a tipper truck has resulted in multiple fatalities in Dutse, a community located within the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday near the Tipper Garage junction, in Dutse-Baupma.

Eyewitnesses reported that the tipper, which was said to be approaching from the Bwari direction, appeared to suffer a brake failure, causing the driver to lose control.

The vehicle reportedly veered off the road, smashing into five vehicles — including tricycles — and mowing down pedestrians.

According to sources, the aftermath of the incident was grim, with several victims reportedly dying on the spot.

“Lifeless bodies [were] seen strewn across the road as shocked sympathizers gathered,” one witness said.

As of press time, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) had yet to issue an official statement regarding the exact number of casualties.

Residents told reporters the stretch of road where the accident occurred has a history of deadly crashes, blaming the narrow lanes and rugged terrain.

“The accident site has long been a danger zone due to the narrowness of the road and the difficult terrain, with multiple fatal accidents recorded there in the past,” a local resident said.

There has been no immediate response from authorities .
