As the 8 November gubernatorial election in Anambra state gathers momentum, a former lawmaker in the state House of Assembly who represented Onitsha South 1 constituency Dr. Emeka Anaebonam, Tuesday disclosed that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s achievements especially on security have surpassed those of successive administrations put together.

Explaining further, Anaebonam, an All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, chieftain, scored the governor 90 per cent on security recalling that prior to the governor’s assumption of office the state was almost taken over by violent crimes, especially kidnapping.

“What the governor did on assumption was that he went back, planned and came back and the violent crimes disappeared. So I will score him very high, 90 per cent on security.

On complaints about the alleged illegal activities of the state vigilante outfit, (Agunechemba), the former lawmaker reiterated that even in the Bible, among the disciples of Jesus Christ you still have Judas, bad ones.

“In the police and the military you have bad eggs also. So when you have a security outfit the bad ones should be fished out and dealt with to serve as deterrent to would be future offenders,” he further explained.

He expressed satisfaction with the numerous achievements of the governor adding that, ” He has done so much on roads that all past governors put together were not able to achieve what the governor has achieved just in three years plus.

“Amawbia/Ekwulobia/Imo road, the street lights you see you will think you are in America. When he was about to work on the roads in Akpaka people thought he was joking until he put the machineries working.

“Nobody believed he will work on Okpoko that was like a no go area but he transformed it, gave them a general hospital. He has the intention of spreading his achievements to those areas that have not benefited. By the time he will come back for his second tenure all will benefit. One doesn’t need a microscope to see the numerous achievements of the governor,” Anaebonam further stated.

Also on the recently concluded by-election for Onitsha North 1 constituency and Anambra South Senatorial district in which politicians allegedly bought votes at the highest bidder, the APGA chieftain described it as unfortunate.

“It is like it has become a trend in the state and by extension to the nation. Everybody sees the work of the governor, his achievements spoke for him during the by-election and that was why APGA won landslide, that of 8 November gubernatorial election is sure victory for Soludo and APGA”, he explained.
