Commissioner, chairman task councillors on teamwork, PPCP Initiative

The Commissioner for Entertainment, Culture and Tourism, Hon Don Onyenji,
The Executive Chairman Idemili South Local Government Area(ISLGA), Hon Mrs Don Onyenji and others have tasked the Idemili South Councillors to embrace teamwork, collaborate with the Executive arm towards enacting laws/ordinances that will further develop the LGA and in extension Anambra State.

They made the call during the inauguration cum administration of Oaths of office on the newly elected councillors at ISLGA Secretariat, Ojoto.

 

 

Speaking during the event, ISLGA Chairman, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi who was a former ISLGA Leader of councillors and Leader of all leaders in Anambra State advised embrace teamwork within themselves, have cordial relationship with the Clerk and Deputy Clerk of the Council Chambers to enable them garner the required experiences needed for law making processes.

She also told Councillors to look out for illustrious sons and daughters that will think home and be involved in Public Private Community Partnership PPCP initiative saying that annual award will be given to performing councillors to encourage hardwork.

 

“Look into your Communities to discover and develop bye laws that will progress the grassroots. Do everything in your power to ensure proper representation which will gladen the hearts of the people and make them vote for All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the coming elections,” Mrs Obi said.

According to the Hon Commissioner, Don Onyenji, I like what I saw here today especially the parliamentary procedure of electing the principal house officers in the Council Chambers, that is a march to democracy and development of the LGA.

“They are privileged to be elected councillors through due process. The mandate is to be focused, work together, develop laws, monitor projects, take advice, execute projects and work in fairness ot doctrine,” Onyenji said.

Moreover, the ISLGA Deputy Mayor, Hon Ifeanyi Anakuba stated:”Today marks the beginning of Democratic administration in Idemili South as Councillors Congress sat today. I advise them to focus on legislation and laws that is geared towards developing the LGA and progress Anambra State.

 

The Legal adviser to ISLGA, Barrister Martins Okeke Said that the whistle has been blown for serious business of legislative governance.” They should step up, emulate the working Chairman and follow her pace to see that governance is brought to the grassroots”.

The House of Assembly Legislator for Idemili South, Barr Ebuka Igwe(Ugosinachi) and the APGA Chairman Idemili South,Hon Kizito Anoliefo encouraged the councillors to do their best in upholding the solution mandate to ensure that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s visionary administration of making Anambra State a healthy, liveable and prosperous homeland was achieved.

Earlier, the Chief Magistrate Nnobi Court 1, His Worship Kenneth N. Nwoye inaugurated the Clerk, Deputy Clerk and the 12 ISLGA councillors urging them to work and carry out their duties within the ambit of statutory laws guiding ordinances or local laws.

Moreso, the first house sitting of the newly inaugurated councillors saw the emergence of Hon Ernest Ezeunyim of Nnobi 1 Ward as ISLGA Leader of the councillors with 11 votes.

Other Councillors include Hon Valentine Mbadugha of Nnokwa Ward (Deputy Leader), Hon Chibueze Okoli of Ojoto (Majority Leader), Hon Mrs Nkiru Onwuakagba of Oba 2 Ward( Deputy Majority Leader), Hon. Ebuka Chibueze of Oba 1 Ward(Chief Whip), Hon. Ikenna Jude Emeli of Awkaetiti 2 Ward(Deputy Chief Whip), Hon. Donatus Somadina of Akwuukwu Ward, Hon. John Oluchukwu Ilogbenu of Nnobi 2ward, Hon. Ernest Okafor of Alor 2 Ward, Hon. Collins Kosisochukwu Okeke of Awkaetiti 1 Ward, Hon Chibueze Amanwa of Nnobi 3 Ward, Hon. Silas Emeka Okudo of Alor 1 Ward.

The name of the ISLGA Council Chambers Clerk is Comrade Sir pClems Ezebunachi while the Deputy Clerk is Mrs Ikemeh Benedict.
