Speaking on the performance of the Outgoing President General of Nzuko-ora Nnewi, Nwonye said Hon Maduka Atueyi tried on his own capacity adding that leadership remained uneasy task.

“It is only God that gives grace, gift and wisdom to lead.I don’t like being opposition to any leadership position.

“Though,it was in his tenure for the first time in the history of the community, that the entire Nnewi was taken.

“Abducting a Town Union president general is like abducting the entire of people of that community. Abducting our PG was totally unfortunate” he added.

As a strong Stakeholder in Nnewi community, he said Otolo community bringing out only two candidates for the contest was totally wrong and advised the community to bring more people for a better result.

Nwonye added he knew nothing about Prof Edwin Maduka Chukwuma, but for Jude Osumuo,he said he has seen positions he occupied in the past stating that” leadership is not all about occupying many positions, it is all about building a strong legacy, one will be remembered for.

“Otolo community should go back home, among themselves, they should choose a good candidate to present to us.Money should not the priority because selection of President General should be on merit.

“There’s no reason whatsoever to share money. We should stop the mentality of selling our conscience in any election” Nwonye advised.

Nwonye called on Delegates for the forthcoming Nzuko-ora Nnewi election to vote wisely because according to him “charity begins at home”.

He further advised any candidate that would win the election to be neutral, not to be influenced by any political party. He further admonished the person to remain firm in his word not to be influenced by anyone for the development of their community, Nnewi.
