An Oyo State High Court has given the green light for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to go ahead with its national convention scheduled to hold on November 15 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Justice A.L. Akintola issued the order on Monday after considering an ex parte motion filed by Folahan Malomo Adelabi, affirming that there was no legal barrier preventing the convention from taking place as planned.
Recall that the PDP crisis deepened on Saturday when the Damagum-led National Working Committee (NWC) suspended four top party officials.
In a swift reaction, a faction loyal to National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu announced the suspension of Damagum and other key officers, further dividing the party’s leadership.
