Philip Shaibu, the recently impeached Deputy Governor of Edo State, has lauded the Federal High Court’s decision to reinstate him as a significant victory for democracy and the rule of law.
The Abuja Federal High Court, under the judgment of Justice J. K. Omotosho, overturned Shaibu’s impeachment by the Edo State House of Assembly on Wednesday morning.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Musa Ebomhiena, Shaibu emphasized the judiciary’s role as the last hope for the common man. He stated:
