DIPF clears hospital bills of over 37 indigent patients in NAUTH

De Imperial Philanthropic Family(DIPF) has cleared hospital bills of over thirty seven patients in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital(NAUTH),Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

De Imperial Philanthropic Family, an NGO known for its philanthropic activities has succeeded in empowering so many people in the society,promoting standard of education, improving health and alleviating poverty in Nigeria.

DIPF, as part of its annual Fifty Million Naira Southeast Humanitarian Medical Intervention Project, themed “Set Free the Healed”, visited NAUTH on 5th of July, 2025, paid the hospital bills of over thirty seven indigent patients and gave each patient cash worth one hundred and eighty thousand naira.

Speaking during the event, the President of De Imperial Philanthropic Family,High Chief Dr Sir Darlington Nwabunike(Eze Nwakaibeya Ogbabalu Aku N’ Anwu Ojoto) said DIPF was formed to help humanity.He revealed that their organization remain committed in making a positive impact on the society through their philanthropic activities and community service.

Chief Nwabunike disclosed that putting smiles on the faces of the people remained a bigger challenge,adding that “they are willing and capable to do more”.

He promised by the grace of God Almighty they would continue to assist and serve the people,urging all the wealthy men in the society to help the downtrodden, and to be their brother’s keeper, adding that with that, the world would be a better place to dwell.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) Senatorial Aspirant for August, 16th Senatorial District bye-election,Chief Dr Ebuka Onunkwo speaking during the event said helping people has been one of their objectives.

He said the organization remained a family, disclosing their slogan which centered on “Living for humanity.He stressed that “they are trying to give back to the society from the abundance given to them”.

“Paying hospital bills is just to thank God Almighty for the sound Health given to us.We have come to help our people to regain freedom by paying their hospital bills so that they would live their normal lives” he added.

Responding to the kind gesture, the Acting H.O.D of the Medical Social Services,NAUTH,Nnewi,Mrs Uche Osakwe on behalf of the Chief Medical Director of NAUTH, Prof. Joseph Ugboaja OON, and the entire Management Team expressed their gladness for the magnanimous gesture of the members of De Imperial Philanthropic Family.

She revealed that 37 indigent patients, who were discharged but couldn’t pay their hospital bills were all cleared for them to go home, while some patients that have not been discharged were assisted financially.

“So, today is a very good day for us and the patients, because our patients’ bills have been cleared by DIPF. The patients are happy because they will be going home” she expressed.

She advised people to continue to help and support indigent people in the society, especially this period of time.
