Fire in an old wooden house

An early morning fire broke out on Monday, December 2, at Trademore, one of Abuja’s popular estate markets, causing significant alarm among residents and traders.

According to eyewitness accounts, the fire started around 4 a.m. The exact cause of the blaze remains unclear at the time of reporting.

However, initial observations suggest it may have been triggered by an electrical fault or other accidental factors.

Men of the Federal Fire Service responded promptly to the scene, successfully extinguishing the flames after a two-hour operation.

Their swift intervention helped to prevent the fire from spreading further and minimized potential damage.

The incident has left many traders assessing their losses, while residents have called for improved fire safety measures in markets across the area to prevent future occurrences.

Authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the cause of the fire in the coming days.
