The NPA noted that its fire department, with the support of other allied agencies, efficiently contained the blaze before it could spread to other port facilities.

Ikechukwu Onyemekara, the NPA spokesperson, commended the agency’s firefighters for their swift response and professionalism, adding, “nor were any other facilities affected by the fire before it was stopped.”

He also expressed gratitude that no lives were lost.

He further assured port users and stakeholders that the NPA, under the leadership of Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, remains committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property across Nigerian ports.

Onyemekara added that the agency continues its efforts to streamline port operations, reinforcing its dedication to improving the ease of doing business in Nigerian ports..
