Dr Uche Nwosu, the Chairman, Gudu Amalgamated Traders Association (GATA), Gudu Market in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has given kudos to Barr Nyesom Wike for infrastructural and other developmental strides he has undertaken in performance of his lawful duties.
Praying for peaceful election and urging members to involve God in choosing their new leaders as his tenure is coming to an end, Nwosu the CEO, Runeth Int’l Coy Ltd highlights some of his achievements while in office.
On some of his achievements, Dr. Nwosu noted that his administration has brought peace and restored sanity to the market, ensuring a more orderly environment. He stated that the market now offers quality goods, restoring customers’ confidence.
Going further, Dr. Nwosu highlighted several security initiatives, including: Installation of solar street lights; Rebuilding of market fences with security wires; Installation of surveillance cameras and fire gadgets for emergency response.
On the area of infrastructure development, he mentioned the solidification of market entrances and exits, as well as the tarring of roads, nothing that his administration has partnered with the National Health Insurance Scheme to create awareness about health.
Speaking on the area of market expansion, Dr. Uche Nwosu revealed plans to partner with a company to construct another market for the benefit of traders and freed apprentices.
On leadership decision, if he will re-contest, Dr. Nwosu stated that he will not re-contest for the chairmanship position, citing his satisfaction with the work done so far. If no one else contests, he went on, he will hand over to the Board of Trustees.
On the relationship with FCT Minister, he again praised the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for his performance, describing their relationship as cordial.
On the way forward for the traders in the market, he urged traders to maintain peace and orderliness, emphasizing the importance of involvement of God in choosing new leaders, so as to elect leaders with the fear of God.
