The current Woman Leader, Abuja Chapter, National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTs), Amb (Mrs) Raphael Adewumi has attributed her reelection to the efforts of her boss, ex – Chairman of the Association, Dr. Prince Edozie Ugwu and his wife, Dr (Mrs) Gift Ugwu.
Amb. Rachael Adewumi disclosed this while marking the 2025 International Mothering Sunday ((IMS), which coincided with 2025 Eid – Al – Fitri, as well as marking the International Women’s Day IWD recently.
Informing that Mrs Gift Ugwu collected form for her and campaigned on her behalf, while she was out of the country, adding that she carried all the NANTs women along and they supported the movement which made her the woman leader for the second time, in appreciation, she said: “I appreciate my Chairman emeritus, Dr Edozie Ugwu and his wife, Dr Gift Ugwu and all my women who joined them to ensure my reelection.”
Still appreciating the couple for the love and trust, Chief rachael Adewumi, also wished the Chairman Emeritus, Dr Prince Edozie Ugwu, a long, blessed, prosperous and fruitful years ahead, as he celebrated his birthday on 13th of March, 2025. She prayed for longer life with abundance of health and wealth from God for him and his family.
She also thanked God for restoring the health of the National President, Barr Ken Ukaoha, who was sick for some time and recovered and organized a thanksgiving for that with NANTs members and others escorting him to the church.
She commended the women under her leadership for celebrating Sallah and other festivities with moderation and affordability. With the way they priced their goods which enabled the poor participate in the festivities, as well as moderating their spending during the celebration, according to her, will enable them continue their businesses normally.
She also hailed her members for peaceful cohabitation with their husbands, whose magic according to her is found in understanding and respect for one another. This, she urged them to keep on. She however prayed to God to continue to give her all it takes to promote unity and peace among members.
The themes for the 2025 International Women’s Day and Mothering Sunday are “For All Women and Girls, Rights. Equality. Empowerment” and “Consolation and Joy,” respectively. Amb. Rachael Adewumi urged the women to uphold these themes, which if done, according to her, will go a long way.
