A military convoy enroute Enugu from Onitsha has been attacked by unknown gunmen suspected to be members of the indigenous people of Biafra (ipob) ,it’s military wing ESN.
Details of the attack is still sketchy, but an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said , a surprise attack was launched on the military envoy there by causing maximum casualties.
Meanwhile, residents of the area could be seen scampering for safety while shop owners were locking up their shops for the day, amid fear of military reprisal.
Corpses of soldiers numbering over 21 were littered around the scene.
Our correspondence learnt that an emergency ambulance has arrived to assist the wounded soldiers while the dead soldiers were taken to the Federal Medical Centre ,Awka (FMC-A) morgue .
Ammunition and other military gears weere looted by the enraged force.
