Five executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kaura Namoda South have been kidnapped by armed bandits while traveling to Mafara, Zamfara State, to visit Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari.
The abduction occurred on March 1, 2025, according to a report by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama.
Among those taken are Yahaya Sani Dogon Kade, Chairman of Dan Isah Ward, and Bello Dealer, Chairman of Sakajiki Ward.
The officials were ambushed while in transit, with bandits seizing five members of the convoy and fleeing into the bush.
PlatinumPost reports that Zamfara remains a hotspot for banditry, with criminal groups frequently resorting to kidnapping for ransom and, in some cases, killing victims despite payments.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, and efforts to rescue the abducted officials are reportedly underway.
