In a stunning development at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, immigration officials seized the passport of Senator Natasha H Akpoti-Uduaghan, preventing her from boarding a British Airways flight to London this morning.

The senator, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, was reportedly stopped at the immigration checkpoint and informed that she had been flagged as a “national security risk.” Officials claimed they were acting on “orders from above”, though no further explanation was provided.

Eyewitnesses report that Senator Natasha, accompanied by her husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, maintained composure but firmly protested the action, questioning the legal basis for the seizure.

“The court never authorised this. You have no right to hold my passport,” she was heard saying to the immigration officers
