The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the abolition of four patrol points in Zone 9, covering the Southeastern states of Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo.

This decision aims to enhance the safety of FRSC personnel operating in the zone.

PlatinumPost reports that there have been regular attacks in the South-East by suspected separatists campaigning for Biafra.

But speaking during his inaugural visit to the Abia State Federal Road Safety Command Umuahia, Assistant Corps Marshal Winfred Uche Chukwurah, Zonal Commanding Officer (RS 9.3 HQ), highlighted the transition to a new operational approach.

He emphasized the importance of a positive mindset among personnel and their pivotal role in supporting the current administration led by President Ahmed Tinubu.

Chukwurah commended the dedication of FRSC personnel and applauded the collaborative efforts between the Corps, sister security agencies, state government, and the media.
He stressed the significance of educating motorists and other road users on traffic laws and penalties, while cautioning against actions that could tarnish the organization’s reputation.

Corps Commander Frederick Ade Ogidan, Sector Commander of FRSC in Abia State, expressed satisfaction with the performance of his officers. He outlined plans to establish additional units across Abia to bolster road safety efforts, calling for support from the state government, individuals, and organizations to achieve the Corps’ mandate.
