As part of activities marking the 50th Anniversary of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) in Nigeria, the Anambra State office of he agency on Thursday held a series of events to commemorate the milestone, featuring a novelty football match and an anniversary lecture.
According to a press statement from the agency, t”he day’s event began with a novelty football match between the Administration Department and the Investigation Department, which ended in an exciting victory for the Investigation Department with two goals to nothing (2–0).”

The sports event, the agency further noted, was followed by an anniversary lecture series, featuring insightful presentations that reflected on the Commission’s five decades of service to justice, fairness, and administrative accountability in Nigeria.

In his opening remarks, the Hon. Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Anambra State, Hon Emmanuel Okechukwu Muoka commended staff for their dedication and urged them to continue upholding the Commission’s mandate of protecting citizens against administrative injustice.

The statement added that the Director of Investigation, in the commission, Mr. Charles C. Ekwunife, delivered a paper titled “50 Years of the Public Complaints Commission in Nigeria: The Journey So Far.” where highlighted the evolution, achievements, and challenges of the Commission over the years.

Other speakers at the event included Mr. Bona Umeasor, a retired Assistant Director of Administration, who spoke on “Discipline in the Civil Service,” and Mrs. Ann Okpala, Deputy Director and Head of Investigation Department (Public), who delivered a presentation on “Investigation Techniques.”

The statement added that the guest lecturer at the occasion, Chief Orjiakor Ifeomamebe Okechukwu, the host of the popular ABS Radio programme “Sharing Life Issues with Ifeomamebe,” spoke on the relevance of the Commission in promoting transparency, good governance, and citizens’ rights protection.

The lecture session also served as an in-house training for staff of the Anambra State Office, aimed at improving their administrative and investigative capacity for more effective service delivery.
The event combined learning, reflection, and recreation, making it a memorable part of the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Public Complaints Commission in Anambra State.
