The Lagos State Government on Monday re-arraigned convicted billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, widely known as Evans, before the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja.

Evans, alongside his co-defendant, Joseph Emeka, is facing fresh charges related to the murder of two police officers. The duo appeared before Justice A. O. Ogala, where they were formally arraigned on a five-count charge bordering on murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

Both defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The case marks another chapter in the long-running legal battles involving Evans, who gained national notoriety for masterminding a series of high-profile kidnappings across Nigeria before his arrest in 2017.
