Metuh @ 60: inmates, physically challenged persons, receive gift items, food items worth millions of naira, cash donations

The Former Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Barr. Olisa Metuh (Akajiugo Nnewi) with his entourage has visited Blessed Tansi Priest Center, Igwe Nnewi’s palace, Nnewi Correctional Centre, Disability Home where he shared gift items, food items worth millions of naira and cash donations as part of activities to mark his 60th birthday, tomorrow being 28th of November.

Metuh, who received Royal blessings from Igwe Nnewi, His Royal Highness, Igwe Kenneth Orizu lll, moved to Nnewi Correctional Centre, where he donated cash, gift items and food items.

He also commissioned the lawn tennis court and borehole he built for them.

Speaking at the Nnewi Correctional Centre, Metuh said he would give five inmates scholarship up to university level, adding that he had been an inmate of a Correction Centre before, and understood how it feels to be behind bars.

He admonished them to remain strong, not to lose hope, that it is never the end of the world.

At the St. Andrew Anglican Church Disabled Home, DCC Nnewi, Chief Olisa Metuh shared food items, and wheelchairs to the physically challenged people.

“It has been the mercy of God ,that has kept me alive, protected me.I have had several problems but survived all” he disclosed.

He encouraged people to be calm that God Almighty would take care of everything, charging them not to be in a hurry in pursuit of wealth but pray and ask God for guidance.

He further noted that there is no political attachment to his philanthropic nature.

“I have no intentions to vie for any elective office, I will not support, promote or sponsor any individual to run for any election, either in Nnewi or outside Nnewi.

“My philanthropic gesture is based on benevolence, charitable work.I have been doing charity all through my life. I have trained people, helped people in their businesses, impacted lives of my people secretly.

“I came down to do more for my people openly because of the unfortunate demise of my younger brother, Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who had helped my community greatly when he was alive” he noted.

Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, the CEO of Seahorse Lubricants, while speaking to the newsmen at the celebrant’s country home, Otolo Nnewi, described the celebrant as his good friend, and prayed that God would keep him in good health.

Others who spoke at the event were: Ezinne Adaobi Obijiaku, the celebrant elder sister, Pastor Angela Mba, the celebrant younger sister, they prayed that heaven and earth would honour him and God Almighty would answer him beyond his imagination.
