The indefatigable Mayor of Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Stanley Nkwoka (Ochendo Idemili) last Sunday graced the Most Holy Mary Catholic Church, Ogbu, Abatete and Holy Trinity Anglican Church Personage, Nsukwu, Abatete with his presence to felicitate with the women’s fellowships as the Christian community marked Mothering Sunday, eulogizing His Excellency Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as a Mothers’ Friendly Governor.
Congratulating the mothers on their day shortly after Eucharistic Celebration, the ecumenism driven Mayor enumerated all that the Governor has done in the state, including free delivery, which, he said, includes cesarean sections and other complications occasioned by childbirth.
The people’s Mayor who had earlier worshipped at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Personage, Nsukwu, Abatete noted that he brought a message of hope to the womenfolk and urged them to leverage the free delivery as well as Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme (ASHIA) among other things, assuring that petty traders at all local markets would be given a support grant that would help them earn a decent living.
At Holy Trinity Anglican Church Personage Nsukwu, Abatete, the Council Boss was duly and respectfully received by the Priests and Parishioners.
Speaking during the Service, the helmsman of Idemili North, who was on his routine every Sunday, worship with different churches and denominations, stressed the importance of motherhood in a given society.
Receiving the Mayor, the Vicar of Holy Trinity and the Archdeacon of Abatete Archdeaconry, Venerable Chidi Onyetube, eulogized the Mayor for his dedication and promptness to Church activities, saying that he was the first to arrive for today’s service, even as he described him as a politician with a difference.
Cutting of Mother’s Sunday cake, recognition of Mayor and his team by the Parish Priest, Reverend Fr Ernest Isikaikwu, showering of eulogies on the governor, and prayer for the Local Government Chairman the priest of Holy Trinity Anglican Church Personage Nsukwu Abatete formed the highpoints of occasion.
