NDDC set to complete road projects in Imo state.

Determined to promote and complement the efforts of the Imo state government in the provision of infrastructure, the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC says it has entered into partnership with the Imo state government in the construction of three road work which includes the 25 kilometers Obosima – Ekuru dual carriage road, the the 5.8 kilometers Nkwerre – Umudi road and Umukwe – Etche road network.
The 46 kilometers Owerri – Umuahia road which is almost nearing completion would also be provided with solar street lights.
The Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Chief Samuel Ogbuku made this known at the commissioning of the 7.8 kilometers road reconstructed by the commission in Nwagene local government of Imo state.
Chief Ogbulu who attributed the successes recorded to the support from the state government and the peace provided by security agencies in the state, said NDDC it is determined to complete abandoned projects and initiate those considered as legacy projects in line with the directives of Mr. President.
” I want to start by thanking Mr President, the state governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma. members of the National Assembly and other stakeholders for the support we have been receiving since our inauguration. As in interventionist agency, we are not in competition with any local or state government in the drive for the development of the region. Ours is to give our support to the good work being done by the the government. NDDC believes in partnership and to drive the dreams of our people. In fulfilment of this desire, NDDC is undertaking a partnership with the Imo state government to contribute it’s quota to the ongoing 25 kilometer Obosima – Ekuru dual carriage way, the 5.8 Nkwere – Umuudi and Umukwe – Etche road networks, while the the 46 kilometer Owerri – Umuahia road which is to be commissioned by Mr. President will be supplied with solar street lights ”
In a goodwill message at the occasion, the Chairman, House committee on NDDC, Hon.Esuene Ibori commended the commission for carrying out projects that directly inpact on the people across the region.
” Before this commissioning we have witnessed series of projects across the region including that of the Benin – Abraka road axis which is a testament of the great work the NDDC board is doing.
” It also signifies the reality of the renewed hope agenda of Mr. President which implies bringing succour to the people. On our part, under the leadership of His excellency, Hin. Abbas Tajudeen we shall continue to give NDDC the support it deserves to achieve it’s mandate”
