The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has reaffirmed NEMA’s commitment to advancing humanitarian leadership and disaster resilience across Africa.
Speaking at the Annual Humanitarian Public Lecture and Pan-African Humanitarian Leadership Award held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Mrs. Zubaida Umar said true humanitarian leadership bridges “power and compassion, policy and action, people and purpose.” The event was organized by the Pan-African Humanitarian Network (TPAHN).

The Director General of NEMA, who was represented by the Director, Special Duties, Mrs. Fatima Suleiman Kasim, commended the organizers for celebrating individuals and institutions redefining humanitarian service and inspiring hope among distressed populations.
Mrs. Zubaida Umar emphasized that under her leadership, NEMA remains dedicated to strengthening partnerships that enhance humanitarian coordination, disaster preparedness, and sustainable development across Nigeria and the continent.

The event featured the induction of new members into the Pan-African Humanitarian body and the presentation of awards to deserving individuals and institutions for their outstanding contributions to humanitarian service across the continent.
