The Principal Partner at Halleluyah Chambers and the outgoing President of a factional Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr Ifeanyichukwu Obasi Nweze, has charged the newly elected leaders of the organization to prioritize fear of God, transparency, sincerity and selflessness in their leadership. He emphasized that with these values, they will excel in their roles and achieve great heights.

Nweze gave the advice shortly after their election on Saturday in the nation’s capital.

Stressing the importance of having a strong moral compass, which would guide their decisions and actions as leaders, he urged them to be open and honest in their dealings, avoiding deceit and corruption.

The outgoing President cautioned against selfish motives, encouraging the new leaders to prioritize the welfare of the organization and its members.

Nweze also warned against taking advice from individuals who seek to exploit public funds or engage in corrupt practices. Instead, he advised the new leaders to lead with integrity and selflessness, assuring them that God would reward their efforts.

This advice comes as Ohaneze Ndigbo navigates internal challenges and strives to promote unity and development among the Igbo people.

The newly elected President, Honorable Andrew Ugwu, outlined his vision for the organization. According to him, his administration will usher in a new era of prosperity and empowerment for Ndigbo in the FCT. Ugwu noted that despite Ndigbo’s significant population and investment in Abuja, they are underrepresented in government, and he aims to change this narrative.

Ugwu emphasized the need for unity and one Ohaneze, stating that his administration will work towards achieving this goal. He also highlighted the importance of adhering to Ohanaeze’s laws and declarations, particularly with regards to the title of “Eze Ndigbo” and “Onyendu Nd’Igbo”. The new President promised to work towards producing an “Onyendu Nd’Igbo” in the FCT, with peace and acceptability.

The newly elected Woman Leader, Mrs Okoro, expressed her optimism about the future of Ohaneze Ndigbo in the FCT. She emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation, stating that her administration will work towards bringing all factions togethe.j

The newly elected Publicity Secretary, Chief Emeka Victor, also spoke about the need for unity and one Ohaneze. He noted that the issue of “Eze Ndigbo” in the diaspora is a major challenge facing the organization and that his administration will work towards resolving this issue and promoting one Ohanaeze, one voice.
