Ondo SSG dies from tragic road accident injuries

The Ondo State Government has officially announced the passing of its Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi.

In a statement released by Chief ‘Wale Akinlosotu, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, the government expressed profound sadness over the loss of the prominent public servant.

According to the statement, Mr. Oluwatuyi passed away on Saturday, January 4, at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife.

He had been hospitalized following a car accident that occurred on December 15, 2024, along the Ile-Ife/Ibadan highway.

“It is with profound sadness that the Government of Ondo State announces the passing of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), on Jan. 4,” the statement read.

Highlighting his contributions, the statement described Mr. Oluwatuyi as a dedicated public servant who significantly impacted the state through his administrative roles.

“Oluwatuyi was a dedicated public servant whose unwavering commitment to administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation had a significant impact on Ondo State.

“He served with distinction and played a crucial role in the state government, working closely with the Governor and other top officials of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

“Having served government in various capacities, including as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and twice as SSG, Oluwatuyi will forever be remembered for his invaluable contributions to the development of Ondo State,” the statement added.

The government extended its condolences to the Oluwatuyi family, friends, and associates. Burial arrangements will be announced in due course, according to Akinlosotu
