Mother Teresa once said ” it is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving,Nnewi-born Industrialist,Chief Louis Onwugbenu(Okpata Ozuora Nnewi) has demonstrated his immense love for humanity as he hosted physically challenged people in Anambra State and the beneficiaries of his foundation, Louis Carter Foundation.
The annual event which usually takes place at the philanthropist’s residence every 31st of December, always brings joy and happiness in the hearts of the beneficiaries who always go home with bags of rice and substancial amount of money.
This year’s 11th anniversary was organized on 29th of December, 2024 at Louis Carter’s house in Ndi Ojukwu Uruagu Nnewi.It accommodated different physically challenged groups among them were: the concern blind prayer Group Movement, Ihiala headed by Bar.Okolo Nnamdi Felix with almost 30 members, Recdot Young Stars Ozubulu with over 50 deformed persons, Action on Disability Welfare and Development headed by Comr Amobi Okonkwo(Anuneebe) with over 200 disabled persons, and the beneficiaries of the the foundation.
Speaking at the event,the Board of Trustee expressed their immense appreciation and gratitude to God for the visionary leadership and unwavering commitment of their benefactor,Chief Sir Louis Izuchukwu Onwugbenu.
They appreciated God Almighty for giving them such philanthropist who according to them has touched the lives of so many people in the society at large.
They revealed that Chief Onwugbenu has been a driving force for their success adding that he dedicated his time and resources to propel them towards achieving their dreams.
“It may interest you to know that you have affected millions of souls directly and indirectly,both your beneficiaries and their acquaintances through your foundation.
“You have cultivated an enviable environment that embraces innovation and creativity. This youŕ spirit of innovation and creativity has enabled us to develop some cutting-edge programs so to adapt to ever- growing and changing needs of our modern society”.they said
The Board further disclosed that they have created a website that would house all the information about the foundation and make it available for the consumption of the public.
They further disclosed that the establishment of Louis Carter foundation permanent site would enable them to organize educational activities like quiz and debate competition among them.They aaid it would also help them to register their results online.
The Board said they need continuous support so that would create a community where everyone would have opportunity to reach his full potential.
Highlights of the event included sharing of bags of rice,empowerment of all the disabled groups,appreciations to the benefactor by those groups.
