
The Honourable Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Anambra State, Hon. Emmanuel Okechukwu Muoka, has paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman/ Mayor of Anaocha Local Government Area, Anambra State, Comrade Rome Ibekwe, at the local government secretariat in Neni, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
The visit, was aimed at sensitizing critical stakeholders and to build collaboration and synergy in the state on the activities of PCC.
Hon. Muoka was accompanied on the visit by key officials of the federal government agency, including Mr. Charles C. Ekwunife, State Director of Investigation, Bona Umeasor, Assistant Director (Admin) and Miss Ubabuko Ogechukwu, the PRO.
During the visit, Hon. Muoka briefed the Mayor on the Commission’s services, including complaints resolution, mediation, and advocacy. He also requested office space for the establishment of a Public Complaints Commission Area Office in the Local Government secretariat to bring the Commission’s free services closer to the people.
The Chairman, Comrade Rome Ibekwe, pledged to collaborate with the Commission and disseminate the Ombudsman’s message to the people. He emphasized the need for serious sensitization among key groups, including students, market leaders, stakeholders, and captains of industries.
To achieve this, the Chairman suggested: Integrating the PCC mandate into secondary school curricula to educate students about the Commission’s functions and services, collaborating with stakeholders, academicians, orators, and clergymen to spread the Ombudsman’s message across the state.
The Chairman also promised to grant the Commission’s request for an area office in the Local Government secretariat. This visit demonstrates the Commission’s commitment to promoting social justice, transparency, and accountability in governance.
