The Honourable Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission Anambra State, Hon. During a courtesy visit to the Commandant on Wednesday 20th November, 2024, Hon. Muoka recognized the critical role that the NSCDC plays in maintaining national security, protecting critical infrastructure, and promoting public safety. According to him, the two organizations share a common goal of serving the public interest and upholding the principles of justice and fairness. He further emphasized that peace and order are crucial for development to thrive and advocated for synergy between the two federal agencies. He informed the Commandant of his assumption of office in October 2024 following his swearing-in alongside other Commissioners on 25th September, 2024 by the leadership of the National Assembly and sought collaboration to achieve the mandate of the Commission in the state.
Hon. Muoka proposed collaboration through exchanging cases for investigation and resolution within each organization’s jurisdiction. He also suggested information sharing between the organizations. “While the Corps may uncover cases bordering on maladministration during investigations and refer them to the Commission, the Commission can refer threat-to-life and other criminal related cases to the Corps and the Nigeria Police for investigation and prosecution,” he explained.
Hon. Muoka also used the opportunity of the visit to request for the posting of some Corps personnel to the Anambra State Office of the Public Complaints Commission for security purposes, noting it would solidify the working relationship between the agencies. He commended the Corps personnel for their gallant efforts in fighting crimes in the state despite its daunting challenges
The Commandant assured an open-door policy and readiness to collaborate. He however advised the Commission to submit a written request for personnel posting.
Hon. Muoka was accompanied by Mr Charles Ekwunife, the State Director; Ann Okpala and Mrs JaneMary Abunike-Umechukwu, Deputy Directors; and other senior officers.
