A pregnant woman has tragically lost her life after a doctor reportedly performed a Cesarean Section (C-Section) on her with the assistance of a YouTube video in Imo State.

C-Section is a surgical procedure where a baby is delivered through an incision made in the birth parent’s abdomen and uterus.

The husband of the deceased, Onyekachi Eze, shared the heartbreaking news in a video on social media. He, along with popular Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop, visited the Imo Police Command to report the incident on Tuesday.

Eze revealed that the unfortunate event occurred at Lebechi Hospital in Owerri, the capital city of Imo State.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, which has raised serious concerns about the competence and safety standards in medical practices.

Narrating the incident, Eze said, “I carried my wife to the hospital when she was in labor, and the doctor said she needed to undergo an operation because she was bleeding.

“So the female doctor called another doctor to come and operate on her. Right in my presence, they were using their phones to watch a YouTube video on how to perform surgery, and I lost my wife and my baby during the process.”

Shortly after the report, Stanley shared an updated video showing how the owner of the hospital was arrested by the police after the doctors absconded.

Captioning the video, he wrote, “The owner of the hospital where doctors were watching YouTube on how to perform surgery on a pregnant woman has been arrested. Nurses were arrested too, but the doctors who performed the surgery had absconded. They are still being searched for
