Nwadinobi said the awardees have made Anambra proud, describing the feat as reaffirmation of the state’s position as the best among equals in education in Nigeria.

She attributed the awards as testament to massive support for the basic education sector by Governor Chukwuma Soludo who has shown uncommon passion for basic and digital literacy in the state.

“These awards may not have been achieved without huge transformation Mr Governor brought into the state’s school system through the employment of 8,115 teachers.

“It was also made possible through regular training and retraining of teachers, headteachers, school administrators, and Officers-in-Charge of Schools in the State, as well as digitization of the education system, ” she noted.

The event, held at Eagle Square in Abuja, witnessed Woliwo Primary School, Onitsha, emerging overall best primary school in Nigeria, with a Star Prize of a brand-new 16-seater bus.

Pinkberry International School, Odume Obosi, clinched the first runner-up prize for the best-approved private primary schools in Nigeria.

For the teachers’ awards, Mr. Emmanuel Ndibe of St. Theresa Secondary School, Enugwu Ukwu, won the first runner-up prize for the best-approved private senior secondary school teacher in Nigeria.

Mrs. Nkechi Ikedi of Pinkberry International Primary School, Odume Obosi, won the first runner-up prize for the best-approved private primary school teacher in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Girls Secondary School, GSS Ojoto clinched the second position in the best public junior secondary school in Nigeria while Mr. Cosmas Nwata of Igbariam Farm Settlement Primary School took the second position in the best public primary school teacher in Nigeria.

For the best public senior secondary school administrator, Dr. Mrs. Amaka Ubaka of Prince Memorial Secondary School, Onitsha, earned the second position in Nigeria.

Mrs. Ngozi Okafor of Community High School, Nkwelle Ezunaka, emerged as the second-best public junior secondary school administrator in Nigeria, while Mrs. Nnenna Edozieobi clinched the second position for the best public primary school administrator in Nigeria.
