President Bola Tinubu on Friday shared his thoughts on on the recent fuel price hike in Nigeria, describing it as a difficult but necessary step in the country’s broader reform agenda.

During a gathering with the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO China) at the China World Hotel, Tinubu said bold decisions need to be taken to reposition the country.

He stated, “Nigeria is undergoing significant reforms, and we are making bold decisions to drive this change. While you may have heard about the recent rise in fuel prices, these tough choices are crucial for paving the way towards substantial improvements in our infrastructure, education, and public services.”

He continued, “We aspire to provide our children with excellent schools, robust roads, reliable electricity, and consistent water supply, much like what we see here in China. Our goal is to leave behind a legacy of progress and opportunity for future generations.”

President Tinubu highlighted that while achieving national consensus on such matters can be challenging, his administration is dedicated to making difficult decisions to advance the country.

He praised his team and expressed confidence in their ability to lead Nigeria through these transformative times.
