Residents of Kpegheygi Community in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, have praised the construction company handling the rehabilitation of Nyanya to Karshi road SCC construction company, which was awarded by the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr Nyesom Wike, last year.
The residents, while speaking to Disclosure News , said that the quality of job on the road corridor is commendable, adding that community had never seen it this good in terms quality of road in the area.
According to one of the community leaders in Kpegheygi, Chief Amos Ajayi, the company came to work with a unique mind set as against how companies used to operate with lukewarm approach to work.
” SCC construction company is a serious-minded firm that optimizes quality of work as their benchmark.
“Today, we all are witnessing the kind of quality of road infrastructure they are putting in place along this corridor. Not only roads, they are also stepping it up with well constructed gutters and culvert that will make water finds its way during the rainy season. We are indeed grateful to them, for making us feel proud of what they are bringing on the table to the people of this our community and entire areas that the road will pass.”
For Dr Mauktar Idris, SCC has entrenched a template in quality road delivery in the Capital Territory, due to the deliberate and careful quality road construction as seen on the road corridor. He urged the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to prioritize the company in the future contract awards in the territory.
On the part of Nze Chukwuma Orji, SCC has been a source of joy for the Kpegheygi people, noting that their coming to this part of FCT , has given the people of the area a since of belonging to feel a government presence in FCT.
He tasked the construction firm to help in rehabilitating the road that leads to the Junior Secondary School and Primary Health Centre both in Kpegheygi by the Omax filling station, as doing so will bring a great relief to residents, teachers and health workers in the two government institutions.
Disclosure News reports that many residents of Kpegheygi and other neighbouring communities like Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo. Karu, Karshi, are looking forward to the day the road would be commissioned by President Bola Tinubu.
The Nyanya- Karshi road was first constructed over twenty years, ago, with many parts of the road now in a terrible condition, before the present administration awarded the road for total rehabilitation to SCC company last year. So far, over 80 percent of the road has been fully constructed..
