A yet-to-be-confirmed number of soldiers from Myoung Barracks in Yaba, Lagos State, were reportedly killed on Friday morning after a vehicle, allegedly driven by a drunk driver, rammed into them during their routine physical training.

The tragic incident, which occurred in the early hours of the day, has left the military community in distress.

One of the soldiers at the scene described the aftermath, saying, “There’s blood everywhere. I was spared because I was at the back.”

The soldier, whose name has been withheld, recounted that the car carried three young men suspected to be internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as “Yahoo Boys.”

He further explained that the crash took place near the Myoung Barracks Army Sports Camp. Following the incident, one of the occupants fled the scene, while the remaining two were apprehended and severely beaten by onlookers. Their vehicle was also vandalized in the chaos that ensued.
