He acknowledged that the appointment of Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh has facilitated the translation of Soludo’s education agenda into reality.

“The purpose of the visit is to seek partnership with the Ministry of Education in realizing the objectives of the group which are centered on the promotion of Igbo language and culture” Okoye said.

Responding, Commissioner Chuma-Udeh described the Igbo nation as a unique race whose language and culture must not be allowed to go into extinction.

“Igbos are so special that where ever they are, development follows them” she stated.

Prof. Chuma-Udeh who recounted her roles in the early days of the formation of Otu Suwakwa Igbo Initiative, eulogized the founder of the group, Prof. Pita Ejiofor for all his activities geared towards promoting Igbo language and culture.

She promised to give all needed support for the growth of Igbo language and culture, as the Commissioner for Education and personally as Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh.

Venerable Patrick Udealo Okoye was accompanied to the visit by Prof. Echezona Ifejirika.
