The Imo state governor and chairman Advisory Council *Chairman of the NDDC , Senator Hope Uzodimma has alluded the huge successes recorded by the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC to the synergy and unity of purpose among members of the present board.
This was contained in the address delivered at the commissioning of the 7.6 kilometers Nkwerre – Eziama in Nwagene local government of Imo state.
Sen. Uzodimma who described the project as a major one that has brought NDDC and the state, said it’s inauguration, the members of the board had continue to work for the good together with the common goal of transforming the region. This, according to him has resulted in the numerous achievements the commission has recorded over the past few years.
” Since the inauguration of the present board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, we have not heard of any major crisis in terms of acrimony that could have led to the dissolution of the board and appointment of sole administration or interim management committee. I must therefore leverage on that, and commend Mr. President for bringing this team of innovative, good thinkers, a team that is fostering partnership and breaking frontiers to carry out the task of developing the region”
Gov. Uzodimma who further stated that the present NDDC board has successfully changed the old narrtive about NDDC in all ramification, said President Bola Tinubu has also given a thumb – up to the commission added that the Imo state government is prepared to partnership with the commission in the area of development.
He eulogized NDDC for it’s program such as the youth internship, scholarship, free medical outreach among others.
In his remarks, the Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Mo’moh, urged to the people of the region to appreciate the efforts of the president of the country as well as safe guard government infrastructure, adding that such would serve as a catalyst to initiate more projects.
He further clarified that the Niger Delta Development Commission is an interventionist agency, that only complement the works of both the local and state government.
