President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, State House, according to a statement released on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
Bwala, who previously served as an aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, was actively involved in supporting Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2023 presidential election, which he lost to Tinubu. After the election, Bwala shifted his political allegiance to Tinubu, a move that generated considerable discussion.
Onanuga also confirmed the appointments of three individuals as directors-general of various government agencies:
Mr. Olawale Olopade has been appointed as Director-General of the National Sports Commission. Olopade, an experienced sports administrator, previously served as Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State and chaired the organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
Dr. Abisoye Fagade has been named Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. Fagade is a specialist in marketing communications and is the founder and managing director of Sodium Brand Solutions.
Dr. Adebowale Adedokun has taken the position of Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement. Before this role, Adedokun was Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning at the bureau.
These new appointments reflect President Tinubu’s continued focus on bolstering the expertise and leadership within key governmental agencies.
