Tinubu pledges continues support to Senator Akume at nephew’s wedding

President Tinubu pledged support to even after his govt seize to exist.

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has declared his willingness to always ensure his support to Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Senator George Akume, even after his service as SGF.

President Tinubu made this declaration on Saturday during the solemnization of holy matrimony of Senator Akume’s nephew, Pharmacist Henry Akume and Miss Opeyemi, which was held at Catholic Youths Centre in Makurdi.

Represented at the occasion by National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the way Senator George Akume has handled his responsibilities as SGF and showered encomium on him for his steadfastness and for been focused at all times.

According to him, “Senator George Akume is an eminent personality who started out as a career civil servant and rose through the ranks, from there to partisan politics where both of us served as two terms Governors on inception of democracy in 1999. He also serviced three times as a Senator at the green chamber of the National Assembly, Minister, currently SGF.

In his words, “Sen. Akume is my friend, my colleague and my brother. Tell the world that we will not only stand by him but will continue to be with him”.
President Tinubu, used the occasion to inform Nigerians that their well-being would soon be improved.

Earlier, Deputy Senate President, Sen. Barau who represented the Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio and the Governor of Nasarawa State, Sule in their separate remarks described Sen. Akume, the SGF as an uncommon leader that deserves the support of all.

They said that the SGF has become a leader, not only in Benue State but in North Central and by extension in Nigeria and is mentoring some of them to succeed.

They prayed God to bless the newly wedded couple while assuring them of the needed support to succeed and be a blessing to their State and country.

In his remarks, the SGF thanked the President and all those who came to celebrate with his family, assuring that he will not disappoint the President and Nigeria.

Among those who attended the event includes Former ministers, former Governors as well as some current Governors,including Captains of industries and diplomatic corps.
