Kano political bigwigs reunite as Tinubu visits Dantata family hails his generosity

President Bola Tinubu on Friday visited Kano and condoled with the family of late business magnate,  Aminu Dantata, who died recently.

Tinubu also commiserated with the Government and people of the state over the passing of the business mogul.

The President was warmly received at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside other top government officials and prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Among those who welcomed the President were former Kano State deputy governor  and APC governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections, Nasiru Gawuna, his running mate, Murtala Sule Garo, the state APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas, and Minister of State for Housing, Abdullahi Ata.

The presidential convoy drove straight to the residence of the late business mogul located at Koki quarters in Kano city where he commiserated with the deceased’s family.

During the condolence visit, Tinubu described the late Aminu Dantata as man of immense personality, honesty, integrity, and philanthropy who greatly served humanity during his life time.

“He was so generous, so good, so committed to the great value of our country. He was a great man,” he said.

The President then expressed his condolences to the family of the late business mogul and the Government and people of the state, and prayed Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdausi, and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata died on Friday 29th of June, 2025, at the age of 94 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates(UAE).

He was laid to rest at the revered Baqiyya Cemetery in Madina, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after a funeral prayer held at the Prophet Muhammad(SWT) Mosque.

The burial drew heartfelt tributes, special prayers, and the presence of dignitaries from all over Nigeria.
