Minister Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has openly criticized Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s letter to the Rivers State House of Assembly, dismissing it as “useless.”

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike condemned Fubara’s method of reaching out to the lawmakers regarding the implementation of the Supreme Court’s verdict on the state’s political crisis.

He argued that Speaker Martins Amaewhule and the legislators are not Fubara’s subordinates and should be approached with respect.

Wike insisted that instead of sending a formal letter, Fubara should have personally reached out to the Speaker via phone to request a meeting.

His comments further highlight the ongoing political rift between him and his successor, which has fueled tensions over the control of the Rivers State Assembly and governance in the state.
