Amid allegations of bribery and his subsequent arraignment by the Kano state government, plots to sack the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and former governor of Kano state, Abdulahi Umar Ganduje’ has thickened as his ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area chapter of the party has announced his suspension

This is even as the Kano state chapter of the party has dismissed the reported suspension, and subsequent stacking of the ward chairman of the party 

Ganduje’s suspension was announced by the legal adviser of his Ward, Halliru Gwanzo, who addressed a press conference in Kano on Monday.

The ward said the former governor’s suspension was as a result of a serious allegations of bribery against him by the Kano State Government as the reason for the suspension.

Gwarzo added that the suspension takes effect from Monday, 15 April, 2024 until the former governor of the state clears himself from the allegations.

He said: “We decided to suspend Dr. Ganduje from the party due to the seriousness of the allegations against him.”

Responding to the development, the Kano state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) said it has taken drastic measures against some ward party leaders who earlier suspended the National Chairman of the Party, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje from the party.

The APC Dawakin Tofa Local Government Chairman, Inusa Suleiman, Dawanau, told newsmen that those behind the suspension of the National Chairman were cut in anti party activities with their records of meetings with opposition exposed.

In a similar reaction the Kano state Working Committee of APC sharply adopted the position of the Dawakin Tofa local government area chapter as it has suspended the ward leaders for six months

It added that a special investigations panel has been set up to verified several allegations against them.

The Kano Chairman of the Party Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, said that they have since adopted the decisions of the Local Government Party Leaders, and they are now investigating the Anti Party activities of the culprits.

“We have evidence of meetings between the State Government officials and those that suspended the National Chairman, and state working committee has agreed to sanctioned them for six months and they stand for now Suspended.”
