The Ebonyi State Police Command has disclosed that it has begun investigation into a viral video which showed the uncivil conduct of some of its officers.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Joshua Ukandu, made this known to newsmen in a statement on Sunday.

Ukandu, who stated that the Command also condemned the unprofessional conduct of the officers, said necessary administrative measures have already been initiated while a detailed investigation into the incident has commenced to ensure justice and appropriate disciplinary action.

He explained that the Commissioner of Police, CP Augustina Ogbodo, has reiterated that no form of incivility to members of the public or any form of misconduct by any officer will be tolerated under her watch.

The CP urged residents of the state to remain calm and be law-abiding while assuring that any police officer found wanting would be met with severe disciplinary actions.

Members of the public were also advised to contact the Command to report acts of misconduct by police officers.
