Kaduna state, is currently topping that chat as it has become the epicenter of terrorism activities in Nigeria, following the repeated attacks that have led to the abduction of over 466 citizens in two local government areas of the state

The local government areas, Kajuru and Chikun in Southern Kaduna have like in the past continued to witness unending terrorism attacks since the past two weeks 

Barely 12 days after the attack and abduction of 287 school pupils and staff of Kuriga Primary School in Chikun local government area, about four other attacks have reportedly taken place in the local government area and it’s bordering Kajuru, with the latest strike last Sunday night where 86 residents in Kajuru-Station been kidnapped

Several communities in the two Local Government Areas (Chikun and Kajuriu) have experienced the worst state of living in their community, state and country as they have lost sleep and thrown into a state of confusion as they see their people being slaughtered on a daily basis, while others are being whisked away by gun wielding terrorists as they watch helplessly

These communities included Kuriga, Gonin Gora, Buda Hausa, Dogon Noma and many others

This is even as no major effort is being made to rescue the victims, even as the terrorists have warned that the Kuriga school pupils would be killed after 20 days, starting from the date of their abduction, ( Thursday, March 7), if their N1b ransom demand for their release is not met

Confirming the latest attack on Kajuru station on Sunday, the Kaduna state Police Command said it had deployed its personnel to the affected community.

The command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Mansir Hassan; however noted that the Police were yet to ascertain the number of persons kidnapped.

But a member representing Kajuru Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Usman Danlami was straight to mention that  86 residents were kidnapped Sunday night by the terrorists

He said, “On Sunday night, March 17, 2024 bandits invaded Kajuru Station a community in Kajuru local government area of the state, kidnapping 86 people,” the lawmaker said.

Another source in the community who is a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths (KSY), Harisu Darius told journalists Monday that the terrorists wielded sophisticated weapons and invaded the village around 10:0 pm  Sunday night.

He added that the criminals also broke into some shops within the community and carted away food items and other valuables. 

He said: “As of the time I visited the community this (Monday) morning, security operatives have not been drafted to help restore the confidence of the villagers. The villagers are traumatized with the sad development. Government needs to re-strategise in tackling these terrorists.”
