According to Al Jazeera, The Iranian mission to the UN issued a statement on X claiming that their recent drone and missile attack on Israel was in response to Israel’s attack on its embassy in Damascus, Syria. The mission stated that the attack was conducted “on the strength of Article 51 of the UN Charter pertaining to legitimate defense.”

Iran declared, “The matter can be deemed concluded,” following the attack on Israel. However, they warned that if Israel were to make another mistake, the response from Iran would be “considerably more severe.”

Highlighting the conflict as one between Iran and the “rogue Israeli regime,” Iran also called on the U.S. to stay out of the situation.

“It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the U.S. MUST STAY AWAY,” it added.

The attack and Iran’s response have escalated tensions in the region, with the possibility of further conflict looming. Israel has yet to release an official statement in response to Iran’s claims.
