As part of life ambition in serving God for all his mercies and favour, an Nnewi philanthropist, Chief Architect Anosike Onyedikachi Senior, of Umuezeagu Uruagu, Nnewi, Anambra State, successfully built a church for his community.

St Francis of Assis Parish,Umuezeagu, Uruagu, Nnewi, built by the benefactor was dedicated by his Excellency, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye, the Catholic Bishop Nnewi on Monday, 1st of April 2024 at the church premises.

Speaking with journalists, Onyekachi said that he built the church to express his gratitude to God for giving him a second chance.
He revealed that he died and was taken to mortuary, but the next day he woke up from the mortuary.

“God has been faithful to me ,I have encountered hardship, abandoned by my people and lost hope of living, but God answered me when I called him,” he said.

He vowed to use all resources to do the work of God ,who according to him, had been the reason for his existence and the source of his wealth.

“Reading my bible has exposed me to know that we are living here on earth for a moment .No matter what we achieved or acquired, one day we are going to leave all behind,”he added.

He revealed that yearly, he used to share his money into three and he added that two were given to charity while one for himself.He advised people to endeavor to do charity, that it was part of God’s work.

Chief Onyedikachi cautioned the youths on the dangers of making money through dubious ways.

“I pity youths who hope on diabolism and I pray that God will open their eyes to understand whom our Lord is, “he said.

He stated that he was motivated to do all these because of the love of God and his awesomeness.

” I am just an architect and I design building and construct, nothing more,”he added.

He promised to build chapel, healthcentres, old people’s homes ,free education for all and will create electricity generated machine that will supply light to his community free of charge.

In his sermon entitled ‘Church the gateway to heaven ” Catholic Bishop, Nnewi Most Rev Jonas Benson Okoye called on Christians to be dedicated to God Almighty.

He cautioned Christian parents all over the world on the need to train their children. He encouraged them to train their children in Godliness so that they would serve God ,the nation and society with their resources.

Bishop Benson used the philanthropist Onyedikachi to advise the youths on the need to remain focused in God and not going astray.

“The church of our Lord Jesus Christ will continue to move forward and the gate of hell shall not prevail against it, ” he said.

The dedication attracted many dignitaries which included the Senator representing Anambra South Senator Ifeanyi Ubah been
represented by Dr Ndubuisi George, Honourable Ike-Edoji House member representing Nnewi North and many others.

The dedication featured Special renditions by church choir , CWO,CBO and many others.
