As part of activities marking his first year in office, president Bola Tinubu’ has on Wednesday, signed a bill to reintroduce the old national anthem into law. 

Senate Predident, Godswill Akpabio, who announced this at the joint sitting of the senate and house of representatives, said the president signed the bill into law on Wednesday morning.

The senate president also said the official reciting of the old national anthem will take off Wednesday, when the President will flag it off during a joint sitting of the national assembly today.

House of Representatives Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, however disclosed that Tinubu will not deliver a “state of the nation” address as earlier announced because today is not designated as official Democracy Day.

Abbas apologized for the earlier miscommunication on the subject.
