Factual Reportage

Aminu Tambuwal, former governor of Sokoto State and current representative of Sokoto South Senatorial Zone in the Senate, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for distancing his administration from the shortcomings of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Tambuwal, who also served as the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 general elections, expressed his concerns that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been more focused on gaining power rather than addressing the country’s security and development needs.

“The Tinubu administration, which has not succeeded in securing Nigerians or promoting development, is now trying to dissociate itself from Buhari’s failures,” Tambuwal remarked.

He emphasized that Tinubu, having benefited from the APC under Buhari, should not allow his aides to criticize the former president’s administration.

Tambuwal urged President Tinubu to concentrate on governance with a serious and focused approach, avoiding distractions that could undermine his plans for national security and development.

Speaking at a PDP stakeholders meeting in Sokoto State on Sunday, Tambuwal encouraged party supporters to remain united and politically aware, despite the current challenges in the country. He called for a commitment to positive change and political unity, highlighting the importance of discipline and respect within the party.

Tambuwal praised the leadership of the PDP in Sokoto State for their dedication and efforts in fostering party unity and progress. He also urged party members to participate in the ongoing registration process to strengthen the party’s presence in the state.
