Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has approved the allocation of land for the establishment of a new spare parts market in the state.
The governor made the announcement during the 2024 Igbo Cultural Day celebration, where he was honoured with the traditional title Eze Enyi N’digbo (Friend of the Igbo people).
He revealed that the Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS) is finalizing the necessary documents to facilitate the market’s development.
Sani pledged to personally oversee the groundbreaking ceremony once preparations are complete.

He also expressed his administration’s commitment to supporting Igbo industrialists and entrepreneurs by providing attractive incentives to encourage investment.
“Kaduna State is home to Igbos,” the governor declared, emphasizing that the Igbo people are known for their resilience, resourcefulness, and industriousness, which have contributed significantly to the state’s progress.
“Despite challenges, your faith in the huge potential and possibilities of Kaduna State remains unshaken,” he said, urging Igbos to keep investing in key sectors across the state.
Sani further outlined his administration’s goal of maintaining Kaduna’s position as a leading destination for investment in Nigeria. “Our economic agenda is focused on attracting investments across various sectors, creating jobs, and promoting technology and skill transfer to build a skilled workforce,” he added.
The governor expressed gratitude to the Igbo community for the honor, describing the title as one he deeply cherishes.
Chief Francis Uchenna Ani, the President-General of the Igbo Community Welfare Association, explained the rationale behind conferring the title.
“We thoroughly assessed your performance over the last 18 months. Your inclusive governance, efforts to foster peace among various ethnic groups, and achievements in rural infrastructure development stand out,” Ani said.
He highlighted several ongoing projects, including the construction of over 60 rural roads and the rehabilitation of schools and primary healthcare centers, praising the governor’s swift achievements within a short period in office.
In a gesture of appreciation, the governor donated a bus to the Igbo community and commended their decision not to participate in the recent nationwide hunger protest. Sani also noted that his administration respects the Igbo population in the state, pointing out that at least five Igbos hold key positions in his government.
